Book Review: Obscured by Tara Sue Me

Obscured by Tara Sue Me is an intriguing and suspense-filled story. It is a story about secrets, hate, and desperation making the truth hard to see.

It is a story about Athena who, as a naive 16-year-old, gets lured into a world of prostitution and abuse by a man, she thought, she could trust. After ten years of trading her body for survival, she is desperate to get out of this lifestyle, yet she has no-one to turn to. Everyone appears shrouded by secrets and nothing is as it seems.

Tara Sue Me skillfully leads you through events in a very realistic manner.  As you manoeuvre through all the darkness, deceit, intrigue, and suspense, you try to figure out where the truth begins and where it ends. With every word, you connect with the characters and their flaws. You feel Athena's anguish, desperation, and hope.

Obscured is a well-written, fast-paced story which I enjoyed immensely.
