Book Review: Murder On Moonshine Hill by Joan C. Curtis

Jenna Scali is back with a new mystery to solve!

In Murder on Moonshine Hill by Joan C. Curtis, Jenna reluctantly accepts to attend a friend's wedding, after coming across a cryptic message tucked inside the invitation. This friend, Marcy, was her best friend when they were younger. They were inseparable but drifted apart after a tragic incident.   The fallout still affected Jenna and if it hadn't been for that message, she would have given the wedding a miss.

Not expecting anything untoward, Jenna along with her good friend Quentin head off to Moonshine Hill.  Upon arriving at the inn, she meets various characters that make up the wedding party. Her reunion with Marcy raises more red flags that Jenna's curiosity is unable to dismiss. A murder sees Marcy being the prime suspect which prompts Jenna to discover the truth.

Murder on Moonshine Hill is a suspenseful, gripping and well-written story. The plot is fast paced, well thought out and will keep you wondering right to the very end. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I for one, can't wait to read another Jenna Scali mystery.

Book Review: All We Left Behind by Ingrid Sundberg

When Marion Taylor, the shy bookworm, meets sexy soccer captain Kurt Medford at a party, what seems like a sure thing quickly turns into a total mess. One moment they’re alone in the middle of a lake, igniting sparks of electricity. The next, they’re on dry land, pretending they’ve never met. But rather than the end, that night is the beginning of something real, terrifying, and completely unforgettable for them both.

As Marion and Kurt struggle to build a relationship from the fractured pieces of their pasts, every kiss they share uncovers memories both would rather keep buried. Marion desperately wants to trust Kurt and share the one secret she’s never told anyone—but some truths aren’t meant to be spoken out loud. Kurt is also still haunted by his mother’s death, by the people he hurt, and by the mistakes he can never take back.

Explosive together and hollow apart, Marion and Kurt seem totally wrong for each other—but could they turn out to be more right than they ever thought possible?

All We Left Behind by Ingrid Sundberg is a story about first love, but it is not your traditional love story. This story is gritty and raw. It touches on loss, addiction, abuse.

This is a story about Marion, who is a shy girl and who has a huge secret. Fearing that it would ruin everything if it came out, she has kept it to herself. Not even telling her father or her best friend, Lillith. As her complete opposite, Lillith challenges Marion. She keeps pushing Marion's safe boundaries one of them is to have sex.

When Marion meets the popular soccer captain, Kurt at a party, sparks fly; they have a connection. However, coming from dysfunctional families, they both need to come to terms with the secrets of their past. As the story progresses, you can't help but wonder how the two can move past their personal tragedies  and make their relationship work.

Ingrid Sundberg's writing is detailed and the storyline was engaging. Through her writing, she showed the complications of teenage or first love especially if tragedy is involved.

Book Review: Stolen Fate by S. Nelson

This isn’t your typical story about boy meets girl then they fall in love and live happily ever after. No. This is a story about deception and betrayal at its finest. This is a story about hatred and attraction which does everything in its power to destroy two people.

Essie Horton is a woman who has lived through unspeakable things during her short life and when a prime opportunity presents itself, she dives right in, only concerned about herself and her objectives.

Drayden Warner is a man used to living the good life, bedding every beauty in sight, masking an empty existence, and hiding from a tragedy which happened years ago. Little does he know, his life will change forever when he meets the one woman who will possibly destroy him for good.

Stolen Fate is S. Nelson's debut novel. It is impressive, well written and the storyline made it hard to put the book down.

The story had it all - suspense, drama, deception, betrayal, heartache, lust, chemistry, and love. With a myriad of feelings within the book, it was an engrossing read.

Essie Horton has a plan. A plan that would set her up but like all well thought out plans, things go wrong. She hustled the wrong man. She hustled Drayden Warner.

Drayden is rich, handsome and a playboy. He may be every woman's idea of hotness but when crossed, he does not let anyone walk all over him. Not even Essie.

The events that follow made me wonder about the sanity of the characters and if they will ever be able to trust and love again. The way the author portrayed the characters drew me in and I felt all their emotions. I can't wait to read more of S. Nelson's work!

Book Review: e-Murderer by Joan C. Curtis

e-Murderer is a psychological suspense thriller, written by award-winning Joan C. Curtis who also wrote The Clock Strikes Midnight. It is a story about Jenna Scali and her determination to find a psychotic killer.

It all starts with a disturbing email. Assuming it was spam, Jenna thought nothing of it, until the news of a murder is published.  With each incoming email, the media report another murder, and it is not long before Jenna comes to the realisation that she is the next victim. She embarks on a sleuthing mission to find the killer before he strikes again.

The story drew me in from the start. Like Jenna, I work in an office and check my emails regularly throughout the day. Just the thought of getting emails which describe a murder, is chilling and nerve-wracking.

I thought I had figured out who the killer was. But as the story progressed, the tension and danger also intensified. Some of the other characters started to come across as guilty and this challenged my theory, keeping me guessing right to the end.

I can see how e-Murderer won first place in the Malice Domestic grants competition for new writers, as I thoroughly enjoyed this well-written story. I totally recommend it and I look forward to another Jenna Scali mystery.

Book Review: Obscured by Tara Sue Me

Obscured by Tara Sue Me is an intriguing and suspense-filled story. It is a story about secrets, hate, and desperation making the truth hard to see.

It is a story about Athena who, as a naive 16-year-old, gets lured into a world of prostitution and abuse by a man, she thought, she could trust. After ten years of trading her body for survival, she is desperate to get out of this lifestyle, yet she has no-one to turn to. Everyone appears shrouded by secrets and nothing is as it seems.

Tara Sue Me skillfully leads you through events in a very realistic manner.  As you manoeuvre through all the darkness, deceit, intrigue, and suspense, you try to figure out where the truth begins and where it ends. With every word, you connect with the characters and their flaws. You feel Athena's anguish, desperation, and hope.

Obscured is a well-written, fast-paced story which I enjoyed immensely.

Book Review: The Clock Strikes Midnight by Joan C. Curtis

The Clock Strikes Midnight by Joan C. Curtis is a heart-wrenching story of two sisters and how tragedy, betrayal and secrets tear their family apart.

The events and trauma of the past are overwhelming and to escape it, Janie runs away. Once she left the town, she never looks back. Instead, she starts a new life and in the process abandons her sister.  Marlene stays in the same town and tries to make her life work. But, she has issues. The release of their stepfather from prison and a ticking time bomb causes Janie to set things in motion and the sisters meet after twenty long years.

The suspense and mystery was a page turner and had me hooked. With every small revelation, I asked myself questions, one of them being, "Why would the mother marry a person like Ralph?" But as I kept reading, I formed my own conclusions, which turned out to be correct.

The characters draw you in. Their emotions, fears and secrets, slowly unravelling as the story progresses. Their past is hell and tragic. Their current situation is sad. Janie may have become a successful business woman, but her past haunts her; she has secrets. Marlene has issues of her own. Depressed, she also feels let down by her sister for leaving her to deal with the aftermath. Her emotions spiral out of control. One thing leads to another as she gradually loses control of herself.

Alternating between past and present, the story builds a picture of what the girls go through. The different points of view is clever. You get a deeper sense of the anguish and secrets that surround the two sisters. The mother's point of view is an eye-opener. The glimpse into her life is certainly interesting and worrying.

I loved everything about this book. It had a gripping storyline, elements of suspense and mystery.

Book Review: Zeke by Wodke Hawkinson

Zeke is a psychological thriller and is a very chilling and disturbing read. It is a dark story of sexual obsession, twisted motives, and evil. There were elements about it that made me cringe in horror.

The story is about Sue. A young and insecure woman who meets and is seduced, quite cleverly, by a handsome man, Zeke. Zeke seems to have it all. He is charming, confident and good looking. From the onset, it's apparent that he is up to no good. He is dangerous and cunning as he plays with the emotions of lonely and vulnerable people.

As the story progresses, his psychopathic personality comes to light. Everything he does is scary; the things he makes Sue do and how he manipulates her is chilling.

In the case of Zeke, beauty is skin deep. He is truly a scary and disturbing character. At times, I had to stop reading as the scenes were too gruesome. I felt I couldn't abandon Sue, and I kept going till I got to the end. This well-written story is certainly not for the weak-hearted.

Book Review: Shallow Waters by Rebecca Bradley

When the naked, battered body of an unidentified teenager is found dumped in an alleyway, post-mortem finds evidence of a harrowing series of events.

Another teenage death with the same MO pushes DI Hannah Robbins and her team on the Nottingham City division Major Crimes Unit, to their limits, and across county borders. In a race against the clock they attempt to unpick a thick web of lies and deceit to uncover the truth behind the deaths.

But it doesn't stop there. When catching a killer isn't enough, just how far are the team willing to push themselves to save the next girl?

Shallow Waters by Rebecca Bradley is a really great read. It is fast paced, has great characters and a compelling yet dark storyline. It is about Detective Inspector Hannah Robbins and her team who are on the hunt for a killer. A killer who abducts, abuses, and murders young teenagers.

The tension builds with each page. So does the anxiety. The pressure, the suspense, the emotions of the characters and what they go through, all drew me in. I read the book as if I was part of DI Hannah's team. As the urgency to find the killer intensified, so did my need to keep reading. When I got to the end, I felt relieved but, I also felt extremely sad.

This well-written and disturbing story had me hooked right from the beginning. I look forward to another DI Hannah mystery.

Book Review: Uncaged by Paige Notaro

From the description, Uncaged by Paige Notaro sounded dark and gritty. It didn't quite get there for me, but I did find the story entertaining.

It is the story of a naive young girl who along with her friend head into Mexico. She then finds herself drugged and sold all because she innocently believed and trusted her so called friend. As the story unfolds, she understands that she has to take care of herself if she wants to survive the situation she finds herself forced into.

Her 'Owner' has Cartel connections. However, I must have missed something when reading it as I could not figure out what the connection was. He does come across as slimy and like most villains, untrustworthy. He does like illegal cage fights and he takes Georgia to one, and that is where she meets Andre.

Andre who has his own demons and is a lethal fighter, sponsored by the Cartel. Of course, he is one sexy man. He helps Georgia get away from her 'Owner' and subsequently they fall in love with other.

In order to protect her from the Cartel, Andre requests the help of his brother Dennis and his girlfriend Maria and together they try to keep her safe.

I found the story sweet and action packed, with a fair bit of conflict.

Book Review: Only For You by Genna Rulon

Only For You is Genna Rulon's debut novel. It is a well-written story revolving around two friends, Everleigh, and Sam, who are at university. They fear for their safety as attacks on female students is on the rise more so when they hear that the women are raped. The fear intensifies as the assaults escalate to murders.

Only For You  has it all: mystery, suspense, humour and love. You can feel the deep love between the two friends and the budding romance between Everleigh and Hunter.

Everleigh is a strong and brazen woman. Her sassiness and her interactions with others and Hunter, in particular, are both funny and entertaining as she tries to establish an upper hand with their verbal sparring. Her friendship is honest and no matter what the situation she stood tall and strong.

Hunter is a mystery at the start, but it wasn't long before I guessed what he represented. He is sexy, sweet, a martial arts expert, muscles galore, and he genuinely cares not only for Everleigh but others too.

Only For You  is a standalone book. It does leave you wanting to know what happens to the secondary characters, Sam in particular. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading Sam's story in Pieces For You and her next two books in the For You series.

Book Review: Dirty Ties by Pam Godwin

Revenge.
I race to finance it.
I evade to protect it.
I kill to attain it.
I planned everything.

Except her.
The alluring, curvaceous blonde at the finish line.
With sapphire eyes that cheat and lie.
Whose powerful family murdered mine.

I hate her.
I want her.

I know she’s hiding something.
But so am I.

Dirty Ties by Pam Godwin has twists and turns, secrets and surprises and is full of action. Hooked right from the opening paragraph, I barely put the book down — I had to keep reading to see how the story unfolded.

It is a story about Kaci and Logan. Both have secrets and their own agendas. The driving force behind Logan's motives is revenge. That is his focus. Losing is not an option for him be it racing in the illegally underground racing circuit or in his quest to correct the wrong done to his family.

I found Kaci to be a very a strong woman. She has beauty, brains, wealth,  and she is happily married or so people presume. They think she is one lucky woman as she has it all. But she is not happy, and she has an agenda of her own. She needs to change the dynamics in her life to protect those closest to her. Her future and happiness depends on it.

To get away from her troubles, she goes to the underground race events to catch a glimpse of the biker no-one could beat or knows what he looks like. A biker known as Evader and who sets her body on fire, making her crave a man she is yet to talk or see.  The chemistry between the two is off the charts.

Entwined with action, mystery, suspense and a whole load of sexiness, this brilliantly written book, made the whole reading experience enjoyable.

Book Review: Invasion of Privacy (Deep Web Thriller 1) by Ian Sutherland

A brutal killing takes place in an office meeting room in London. The victim is a beautiful young cellist, lured to a fake audition for the Royal Opera House orchestra.

MURDERS: Detective Inspector Jenny Price investigates, baffled by how the killer knew his victim's innermost desires.

WEBCAMS: Does the answer lie in a website that broadcasts webcam feeds from inside homes, offices and shops? Expert security consultant Brody Taylor, hired to test the highly secure site’s cyber-defences by its anonymous owner, begins to suspect so.

VOYEURS: The residents of thousands of households across the country carry on their day-to-day lives oblivious that they are being remotely observed by internet voyeurs around the world, one of which is a sadistic killer who has chosen his next unsuspecting target, a beautiful Swedish nanny.

Thrown together, can Brody and Jenny find a way to bring down the site and track down the serial killer before it’s too late? But can Jenny trust the charming but mysterious security consultant?

Invasion of Privacy by Ian Sutherland was a really good read and I could not put it down. Having enjoyed the prequel novella, Social Engineer, I knew I was in for a treat.

This well thought out, fast-paced mystery thriller showed how easily private networks and computers can be hacked making a mockery of online security protocols. Not only that, it cleverly depicts how easy it is to invade the privacy of others.

One man, wanting to destroy the credibility of Brody Taylor within the hacking community, sets things in motion. By setting up an extremely secure website that broadcasts webcam feeds, he selects Brody to test the security of his site. The site has also garnered the attention of voyeurs from around the world and provides a killer a way to select his victims before he lures them to their deaths.

From the moment Brody accepted the challenge, it became apparent that he was being set up to fail. One live webcam feed catches his attention and interest and via this feed he comes across Detective Inspector Jenny Price who is investigating the brutal murders. Looking for another angle to hack the site, he teams up with her. Using a combination of smarts, computer skills, and social engineering helps with the search to catch the killer before it is too late and bring the site down.

Invasion of Privacy has it all — conflict, cliffhangers, a great story and lots of suspense. It was a brilliant read and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Book Review: Fear Me by B.B. Reid

Fear Me by B.B. Reid is the first instalment of the Broken Love series. It is a dark and twisted tale. It is a tale about Lake Monroe who has been bullied since the age of eight by Keiran Masters.

There is plenty of hatred, fear and desire between the two and though Lake wants to be left alone, knowing full well that Keiran's hate for her is off the charts, she can't stay away and is conflicted by her emotions of love and fear. Keiran is an Alpha male through and through and so are those closest to him. He is a complex man with a lot of anger, ruthlessness and secrets. He gets what he wants by playing mind games and he won't shy away from blackmailing Lake by threatening all she holds dear.

There is a lot of suspense and drama and as I kept reading, things became clearer. What was good to see was how Lake evolved from being terrified and weak to becoming a strong and determined woman, standing up for herself and what she believes in.  As the story unraveled, you also begin to understand how Keiran became this cold, angry bully. Not only that, I started to connect and care for Keiran and felt sorry for all he had to endure in his young life irrespective of the fact that he is the worst kind of person for doing what he did to Lake. Twisted right?

Though I found myself totally and absolutely engrossed in the story I must admit that I found their ages hard to take in. For teenagers, they were pretty intense and were unlike eighteen-year-old kids I know of.  Even with the issue of their age, I enjoyed Fear Me which ended with a cliff-hanger. I must admit that I am curious to see what happens next.

Book Review: Black Lies by Alessandra Torre

Wow. What can I say! I was hooked from the start. Black Lies by Alessandra Torre is a messed up, brilliantly written story. It's a love story but not like any other love story. It is powerful, raw with enough suspense woven in with a cocktail of lies, secrets, and adultery.

Brant: Became a tech billionaire by his twentieth birthday. Has been in a relationship with me for 3 years. Has proposed 4 times. Been rejected 4 times.
Lee: Cuts grass when he's not banging housewives. Good with his hands, his mouth, and his body. Has been pursued relentlessly by me for almost 2 years, whether he knows it or not.
Go ahead. Judge me. You have no idea what my love entails.
If you think you've heard this story before, trust me - you haven't.

This book came highly recommended. It also came with a warning - keep and open mind and trust the Author. I was also told that once I had read it, I would want to re-read it as this story will leave me stunned. Well, not only was I stunned, I was speechless. It was unlike any other and yes, I have not heard this story before.

This well-crafted story had me forgetting the list of chores along with everything else. I just could not put it down. Like any superbly written book, it made me think, question and feel the emotions that the characters were going through. I JUST had to know what the secret was. I also needed to understand how an earth could this woman, who is deeply in love with one man, cheat on him with another? What is wrong with her and most importantly what is this secret?

There is a twist. One that is cleverly set-up.  As the pages fly by, the truth is gradually and very brilliantly revealed. The layers of deception and lies come together to showcase the lengths a person, a very smart person, will go through and endure. By putting things in motion, you can only hope that the gamble pays off ensuring that the sacrifices and decisions made irrespective of any moral code of conduct is justified to keep and protect the love they have for each other.

I have not read any of Alessandra Torre's prior work. Needless to say, I will be on the look out for her work as she was a total genius in her writing of Black Lies.

Rating: 5 stars

Book Review: The Boss Series by Abigail Barnette/Jenny Trout

The Boss series by Abigail Barnette/Jenny Trout comprises of The Boss, The Girlfriend, a novella titled The Hook-Up, The Bride and The Ex. The Baby is the next book in this series and is expected to be published this year sometime.

The series explores the Domination and submission relationship between 24 year old Sophie and Neil who is a 48 year old billionaire. Each book is well written and filled with drama and constant sex.

The first book, The Boss, introduces Sophie and Neil to the readers. Their relationship which starts of as purely sexual becomes more when their emotions come into play and despite the huge age difference; they are well into each other as well as into the BDSM aspect of their relationship. The interactions between the characters are believable and their banter made me laugh. It was definitely fun and hot read!

The second book, The Girlfriend, sees Sophie and Neil go through a fair bit and it is not as light-hearted as the first book. From unexpected pregnancy to leukaemia to dealing with the ex-wife and other sexual partners, it has it all. However, this does not stop them from having kinky sex while dealing with all the ups and downs of life and mortality. It was heart wrenching to read particularly around the despair, loneliness and frustration felt by Neil and Sophie whilst he underwent chemotherapy.

In The Girlfriend, Neil and Sophie meet Emir who plays a starring role in their sexual encounters while Neil watched on unable to participate due to the strain his body is going through due to his treatment. The Hook-Up is a short story and follows on from The Girlfriend. This short story is told in Neil's POV and it is centred on his night with Emir which Sophie setup. The roles are reversed in this book, with Neil submitting to Emir, making this the second time he has ever submitted to anyone.

The Bride is the third instalment in this series. The name is a bit deceptive as it gives the impression that Sophie is the bride. However, that is not the case. There is a bride, in fact two brides, but it is not Sophie. The bond between the Neil and Sophie does deepen as they deal with issues that keep cropping up. Like the others in the series, the book is just as hot and kinky.

Sophie and Neil are now an established couple and in The Ex, they plan for their big day but at the same time they are confronted with personal issues. This book also touches on substance abuse and how they both deal with it. The interaction between the two is very life like — from their banters, arguments, how they deal with everyday problems and work-life balance. With the added spice of threesomes and changing partners, they continue to push and explore boundaries together whereby Sophie discovers that she is bi-sexual too.

The writing is really good and draws you in, making you want to know what happens next. All in all, I enjoyed reading this series and look forward to the next instalment.

Book Review: Social Engineer by Ian Sutherland

I love technology. Love the world wide web. Love the fact that I can find answers to anything that puzzles me instantly. Love the fact that I can access my data at any time trusting the security policies implemented by IT professionals. Like many others, I assume that the these policies ensures that our data is kept in the 'vault'. I hear of breaches, of websites been taken down, of trojans and what not, however, Social Engineer by Ian Sutherland, cleverly takes you through a simple process on how a very secure system can be breached by using information that is out there, great acting skills, psychology and with a lot of smarts.

If you know what your looking for, where to look and what questions to ask, people can provide you with enough information that when pieced together it is enough to infiltrate the most sophisticated and secure IT systems and that is what Brody Taylor, a computer hacker, does in a bid to make amends and impress the woman he loves.

This is a short standalone book. It is a great read and I enjoyed it from start to finish. The next book in the series, Invasion of Privacy, features Brody Taylor who continues to do his thing as a computer hacker.

Book Review: Crossfire Series by Sylvia Day

I first came across the Bared to You, the first instalment in Sylvia Day's Crossfire series in 2013 and I was hooked. Making myself comfortable, I ignored everyone around me and sunk into the story of Eva and Gideon, unable to put it down and when I got to the last page I wanted more. The chemistry between Evan and Gideon is intense and scorchingly hot. They are so messed up that I can't help but fear that they will destroy what the feel for each other.

“We don’t fight, angel. We just have to learn not to scare the hell out of each other.”

“You make it sound so easy,” I grumbled. To call either of us virgins would be ridiculous, yet emotionally that’s just what we were. Fumbling in the dark and too eager, completely out of our depths and self-conscious, trying to impress and missing all the subtle nuances.

Eva compares their emotional status to virgins - they definitely have intense chemistry and the sex is off the charts, but emotionally they have a lot to deal with, baring their souls and sometimes hurting each other with actions and words. Yet they try their best to overcome obstacles, develop trust and make their relationship work.

The moment I completed Bared to You, I had to get the next two books that completed the series: Reflected in You and Entwined with You. I had to know if Gideon and Eva could make it considering their past and their emotional state of mind.

Reflected in You was just as gripping as the first book. This book delved deeper into the addiction they have for each other. The chemistry between them is of the charts. The sex between them was overwhelming - their need to connect and be one was through sex, outside of that, they struggled to function especially apart. They are overly addicted to each other, overly possessive, overly obsessed and overly controlling.

I’d kill for you, give up everything I own for you but I won’t give you up.

Eva's nightmare makes a re-appearance, and as a reader, I was taken on an emotional roller coaster ride. I couldn't help but feel for Eva when Gideon pulls away, but at the same time, what he does for her - the suppression of emotions, asking for blind faith, made me feel that he was still into her and that whatever was going on, he was trying to protect and keep Eva safe and he will do anything to make sure of that. However Eva's anguish and confusion over his actions comes across fairly strong.

The third instalment of the series, Entwined with You picks up from where Reflected in You ends. Eva knows what Gideon did for her and they resume their relationship after the distance Gideon enforced in Reflected in You. However, as much as they want everyone to know that they are a couple, their relationship is to be kept a secret from everyone and they do so successfully. Gideon seduces Eva to agree to getting married and they tie the knot in a secret ceremony. However, once they are back in the real world, they announce their 'engagement' and continue their dysfunctional relationship.

In this book, the women in Gideon's life (past and present) are out in force to cause a rift between the couple. From attempted suicides, to threats, to national exposure, there is a lot of drama in-between the bouts of intense and extremely hot sex! I must admit, I thought the ending was rather abrupt. Did they survive the external pressures? Did they become stronger as a couple? Did they start communicating with each other without fear of the other running away? Would they actually talk through their disagreements rather than jump each other's bones and try and control the situation?

As this book left me hanging, I turned to Google and found out that there was more to come. Only problem was that there was a bit of a wait - over a year! When I finally got myself the fourth book, Captivated by You, I read a couple of pages and couldn't go on. The story continues, where book three ended and I couldn't recall what the last scene was. As I read the first few pages, some of the story did come back to me, however, I felt that I was missing the connection. So, I shelved it and went back to the start - I re-read all three books in one weekend and got re-acquainted with the drama that is Eva and Gideon. I am now wondering if I should have waited till book 5 is released as I am bound to be in the same situation when that comes out!

Nevertheless, I read Captivated by You, that same weekend and the drama is still there, Gideon is still making decisions for Eva, not communicating, and not doing much of anything other than dominating her senses.

“I told you I was going to fuck this up. I’ll fuck up again. I don’t know what the hell I’m doing, but God… I love you. I love you so fucking much. I can’t do this without you. I can’t live without you.”

The sex is still hot; they are still trying to make their relationship work and are planning a future together. However, Gideon's past still haunts him, he is still can't sleep in the same bed as Eva and still makes decisions that he thinks is best for her without consulting her or telling her when it is a bit too late. One particular decision causes her to see red and they break up! The positive I got from this is that, Gideon is now ready to face his past in order to save his future! Not only that, the story ends with them talking through what they are feeling rather than jumping each other for another bout of extremely hot sex!

So, the Crossfire series, which I initially thought was three books, is now five and there is no date as to when the final book, One with You will be released. Hopefully, it will be soon as I would very much like to know how it ends and if they have the strength to take their love for each other and build a successful and healthy relationship.
